Rachel Roberts is an experienced film editor based in London, with a focus on telling intimate, compelling and resonant stories. Her work spans critically acclaimed feature documentaries, primetime series and Academy Award shortlisted animations.

Her feature documentary work includes Is There Anybody Out There?, which premiered at Sundance 2023 before a UK and Ireland theatrical release. Following the director’s search for others with the same rare disability, it reached global audiences on Netflix and remains available on Amazon Prime, BFI Player and ITVX.

Most recently, Rachel co-edited We, The Hated, the Opening Night Film at Sheffield DocFest 2026, produced by Passion Pictures. Following activists within the controversial Just Stop Oil protest movement, it asks what it really costs to take a stand in a supposedly democratic society.

Rachel’s broadcast credits include Italia 90: When Football Changed Forever (Channel 4), The Secret Teacher (Channel 4), Surgeons: At the Edge of Life (BBC Two) and Diagnosis Detectives (BBC Two). Her portfolio also extends to drama and animation, including short comedy The Proposal (Vimeo Short of the Week) and A Bear Named Wojtek, which was shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short in 2025.

Alongside her editing practice, Rachel has extensive experience in development editing and has created numerous sizzle reels and casting tapes that contributed directly to commissions. These include Anni: The Honeymoon Murder (Apple TV) and The Battle to Beat Malaria (BBC/CNN), which was nominated for an Emmy.

A graduate of the National Film and Television School, Rachel is also a visiting tutor. She is passionate about supporting emerging filmmakers in developing their editorial craft and creative confidence. She also enjoys consultant editing, providing an outside perspective and support at any stage of a project.
